You can plan the whole (or a big part of) lesson around this game.
What you will need:
1.Flashcards with food
2. A big piece of cardboard/ paper (optional)
For introduction:
you may start the lesson saying "Oh I'm so hungry! Are you hungry? I want to make pizza!"
OR
start with a song like this one.
Then you take out your flashcards with the ingredients for your pizza. Here you can go traditional ( tomato, cheese, mushrooms) or crazy ( anything else that you usually don't put on pizza but suits your vocabulary list). It's up to you.
Draw the shape of your pizza on the blackboard or take it to the extremes and bring with you a big pizza-shaped cut out, lay it on the ground and have children sit around it.
Now it's up to you and your preferences what to do next.
Remember to first present every ingridient!
You can do so by putting flashcards in order and read it in a rhythmical way i.e. "On my pizza I like to have mushrooms, mushrooms, tomatoes.....
The "Singing Cards" can be very useful here. Reading at different paces and in various voices will make the game more interesting.
After going through all the ingredients have children sit in their chairs and draw their own pizza on a separate piece od paper.
While they are drawing you can play some pizza songs in the background. (Like this one, OR this one, OR this one :))
When they are finished, get them to work in pairs and explain them their task: they have to ask questions in order to know what the other person have on their pizza.
"Do you have onion on your pizza?"
"Yes,I do./ No, I don't"
BUT
You don't have to stick to the idea of pizza. It can be salad or any other dish that comes to your mind and fits the vocabulary items you want to use.
Why not making a real salad and later give some to your students? :)
