Photo Album

Everyone has at least one album full of photographs at home. What is interesting, when we look at the different shots from our life our mind fills with the memories, feelings and even sounds and smells connected to them. Overall, it is a pleasurable experience so why not transfer it into the classroom? For this activity you will need to ask your students to prepare some photos, they do not have to be taken from their family albums, they can use pictures from the Internet or even take some new photos :)

When they gather the photos (it's best to have at least three per person), the fun begins.

You can put your students into pairs and let them discuss the photos, tell some stories connected to them. I assure you, there will be lots of excitement and laughter in your classroom when they start sharing their stories :)

But... you can also do something different:

- You can prepare some sets of photos and ask your students to make up some stories connected to them (either or pairs or groups, it is also a great option if you teach one-on-one)

- You can also mix this activity with the game "One truth, two lies" - simply ask your students to share one true story about what is happening in the photos and two made up stories/facts and their partners (or the rest of the group/class) have to guess what was true. (This could even be turned into a small competition - one good guess = point) Here are some examples of the sets I use:

A great thing about this exercise is that you can revise vocabulary as well as introduce some new words that will definitely be useful for your students.

Let me know what you think about this exercise! I'd love to hear your feedback :)
