Telephone

Probably the best known game for practicing listening skills. It requires attentive listening as you have to remember what somebody has told you and you have to be able to repeat it!

The great aspect of this game is that you can easily suit it to the level of your students. The password can be a single word, a phrase or even a whole sentence.

(I guess I don’t have to mention that it is perfect for revising vocabulary!)

So let’s get started!

Divide students into two groups sitting in lines. Each line is ending at the whiteboard.

Whisper the password to the first students in the groups. Their task is to repeat the message to the following people in the group. The last person should write the password on the board.

The group with the most accurate content, spelling and punctuation wins the round.
